Happy New Year 2021!

Today I woke up and found that my mom, dad and everyone else is celebrating happy new year. I was surprised.

When I was born the earth was closest to the sun and currently it is farthest from the sun. That’s only half the orbit. How can it be a new year!

I got really confused.

Then my parent told me that babies may get born on different different dates throughout the year and every day cannot be celebrated as new year’s day , so, by convention , 1st of january is celebrated as new year’s day for all humans on this planet.

I said ok , that is interesting. Then my mom and dad said that when I’ll complete one year l, I’ll get to celebrate my birthday. Now I understood the whole concept and I’m very excited that I’ll be celebrating my birthday in about six months.
